Amsterdam, The Netherlands

October 26,1942:  “As I begin this diary, 103 days have passed since I have withdrawn from a life in society.  Wednesday, July 15,1942, we arrived at our hiding address. How is it, in G-d’s name, possible that people hunt people because they have a different religion? If I ever get the opportunity to give this diary to my children, they will not be able to believe my experience.  April 4, 1944: I was shocked. We were caught.  October 1946:  When I was a child, I was already frightened of having to lose my parents, brother and sister, but through the betrayal of one Dutchman, they were murdered.”
