Margit Lovasz Schmideg

Lvov, Poland

You just had to say party, picnic or beach and Manci was ready to go, as long as there was a camera to record the event. She loved and lived life to the fullest. Housework and cooking were a low priority, but she loved entertaining and she was renowned for her schnitzels. She created a happy home and she was a loving, caring mother for whom nothing was too much trouble. Above all, Manci was the eternal optimist and to her, Auschwitz was a detour on the way to the next party. After succumbing to cancer in 1985 at the age of 63, she urged us not to waste time at the cemetery, but go to the beach and think of her there in her swimsuit.
